Token-to-Share Reconciler for tokenized US equities

Independent daily checks that tokenized stocks are fully backed and pass dividends and splits through. Exchanges and issuers pay.

Early · Securitize on Solana + Base volumes

Written for: Small startup team

Next step

Call the listings or risk lead at a crypto exchange that lists third-party tokenized stocks. Ask what they check before and after listing a new issuer's token.

Why now

Venues listing third-party tokens and their holders have no independent way to check that token supply matches shares held in custody, or that dividends and splits passed through on time. Base's creator calls equities the next tokenization wave, so the number of issuers will grow. Tech is easy, but buyers and custodian data access are still forming.

What became possible

Securitize launched tokenized US stocks on Solana, backed 1:1 by real shares, with dividends paid in USDC. Coinbase's tokenized stocks on Base trade about $70–100M a day. Several issuers on several chains now need checking against one set of real-world corporate actions.

One way in

  1. Backing and corporate-action monitor

A daily feed comparing on-chain supply against issuer attestations. It checks every dividend and split against the record date and flags late or short pass-throughs.

Competition

Early

My read is that this space is early: tools touch both halves of the idea, but nobody seems to do the combined independent check yet. I found no independent product that compares on-chain token supply against issuer attestations for xStocks, Ondo, Robinhood and the other issuers, and also checks each dividend and split against the record date to flag late or short pass-throughs.

Backing transparency today is issuer-sponsored. Backed uses Chainlink Proof of Reserve, Ondo uses Ankura Trust attestations, and aggregators like DefiLlama and RWA.xyz just display that data without reconciling it. On corporate actions there is even less: issuers describe their own mechanics (xStocks reinvests through a multiplier, Ondo reinvests net of withholding and pauses minting) and verify them themselves. Crypto.com's policy explicitly says the issuer has no obligation to pass through corporate actions. The only corporate-action tooling I found is Parvalon, a testnet hackathon project for executing distributions, not auditing them. This leaves a real opening. Multiplier-based reinvestment drifts and gives a checkable number, so a neutral feed could compute the expected multiplier change after each dividend, net of withholding, and each split ratio, compare it to what actually happened on-chain and when, and do this across issuers and chains. Exchanges listing several issuers' tokens have no common way to compare them, and recent events such as some issuers failing to secure SpaceX IPO allocations show that listing teams need issuer-level risk signals. The risks are in the go-to-market. Issuers already pay for their own attestations and may not want an outside grader. Exchanges may treat this as a nice-to-have unless regulators require it. Chainlink, RWA.xyz, Chronicle or Elliptic could add a similar module. To win, a new entrant probably needs to be clearly neutral and cover multiple issuers, with a corporate-action audit trail that is good enough for an exchange's risk committee or an auditor to rely on.

  • Chainlink Proof of Reserve (live for Backed/xStocks)

Puts Backed's custody holdings on-chain, using data from a third-party attestation firm that is refreshed about every 10 minutes. It covers backing only, not corporate actions. Chainlink's docs also say it is not responsible for the accuracy of reserve data the issuer reports itself, so the feed is issuer-sponsored rather than independent.

  • Chainlink Tokenized Asset Data Streams (split handling)

Pricing infrastructure that stages split multipliers so the oracle price stays continuous. It touches corporate actions, but it is not a check that issuers actually passed them through to holders.

  • Ondo Global Markets attestations (Ankura Trust) via DefiLlama RWA

DefiLlama lists daily attestations from Ankura Trust, a 1:1 backing claim plus a buffer, and per-asset pages. This is issuer-commissioned attestation that an aggregator then displays, not an independent reconciliation.

  • Ondo status page / corporate action pauses

Ondo reinvests dividends net of withholding and pauses mint and redeem around corporate actions, publishing this at status.ondo.finance. The issuer discloses this about itself. No third party verifies it.

  • RWA.xyz

An RWA data platform with a dashboard and API that tracks tokenized equities along with metadata such as custodian and auditor. It is the most likely incumbent to add reconciliation, but I found no evidence that it checks supply against attestations or verifies corporate actions.

  • Parvalon

A hackathon project, apparently only on testnet, that snapshots holders of Robinhood stock tokens at a record block from Transfer logs and distributes dividends through Merkle claims. It also proposes a corporate-action event standard. This is adjacent tooling for executing corporate actions, not monitoring them.

  • Chronicle Proof of Assets Dashboard

An oracle provider's proof-of-assets dashboard that connects directly to custodians. I could not confirm that it covers equities. It is a possible entrant for the backing half of the idea.

  • Elliptic (RWA PoR and corporate action risk content)

A compliance analytics vendor that writes about attestation monitoring and corporate action reconciliation for tokenized securities. It already sells to exchange risk teams and could expand into this, but I found no product dedicated to tokenized stocks.

Risks

  • Issuers publish their own attestations, and custodian data may not be available to third parties
  • SEC treatment of tokenized equities is still unsettled
  • Today's volume may not support a paid data business
