T+1 fails predictor for EU and UK mid-tier brokers
Predicts which trades will miss same-day allocation, confirmation or settlement instructions under T+1, and drafts the fix before the cut-off.

Next step
Call the head of settlements operations at a UK mid-tier broker or wealth platform. Ask what share of their trades currently miss same-day allocation and confirmation, and what it would cost them to fail under T+1.
Why now
EU and UK banks have one year to prove they are operationally ready for T+1, and regulators want evidence of that readiness now.
What became possible
Cheap LLMs can read the messy exception emails, settlement-instruction mismatches and allocation notes that cause settlement fails, alongside a classic predictive model.
Two ways in
- Fail-risk scorer
Scores each trade's risk of failing settlement from trade and settlement-instruction data plus correspondence, then sends the risky ones to operations with a drafted fix.

- Settlement operations at mid-tier brokers and wealth platforms
- Model
- SaaS priced by trade volume
- Readiness evidence dashboard
Tracks same-day affirmation rates and fail causes for regulator and board reporting.

Timing matters: go-live is 11 October 2027 and industry testing starts in Q1 2027, so most buyers will pick vendors in the next six to nine months.
Full competition notes (8 competitors)
Fail prediction itself is already taken. The two big EU CSDs, Clearstream and Euroclear, give their participants AI fail prediction and prioritisation. Meritsoft sells per-trade fail prediction at trade ingestion. S&P/SSImple is going after bad SSIs, and BNY and Deutsche Bank have built similar tools in-house. A plain fail-risk score will not win on its own. The remaining opening is narrower. The CSD tools only see instructions once they reach that depository, so they cover one CSD each and miss the trade-date steps before that: allocation, confirmation and affirmation, which under T+1 must happen by the T+0 deadlines (Taskforce surveys show many firms are worried about meeting these). They also do not read the messy client and counterparty emails and chats where many breaks actually start. A new entrant could win at mid-tier UK brokers and wealth platforms by doing three things the others don't. First, combine pre-matching signals from OMS, SSI and allocation data with the content of client and counterparty correspondence. Second, cover CREST as well as Euroclear and Clearstream. Third, draft the actual fix (the SSI correction, allocation chase or counterparty message) before the cut-off, rather than just raising an alert. This is also the market that Meritsoft and Cognizant-style enterprise deployments tend to underserve. The readiness dashboard is weaker as a standalone product. The Accelerated Settlement Taskforce will publish CREST settlement-rate benchmarks from 2027, consultancies such as Delta Capita sell readiness work, and platform vendors can bolt this on easily. It is best treated as a feature of the fail-risk product, not a separate business. Timing matters: go-live is 11 October 2027 and industry testing starts in Q1 2027, so most buyers will pick vendors in the next six to nine months.
- Clearstream Settlement Prediction / SettlementNext
AI tool that flags at-risk settlement instructions up to four business days ahead. It names the top three fail drivers and estimates CSDR cash penalties. Clearstream upgraded it specifically for T+1 readiness. It is free or cheap to Clearstream participants but only covers flows through that CSD.
- Euroclear EasyFocus+ (with Meritsoft and Taskize)
AI-driven tool that ranks unmatched instructions and allegements by urgency. It includes root-cause analytics and resolution workflow through Taskize, and covers Euroclear's CSDs (over 60% of EU settlement). It is positioned as a T+1 transition aid.
- Meritsoft (Cognizant) TTEM predictive AI module
Launched in 2024. It predicts each trade's settlement status at the market deadline from the moment the trade comes in, and feeds risk dashboards and automated exception workflows. It also publishes a traffic-light triage approach for T+1. This is the closest match to the fail-risk scorer.
- S&P Global / SSImple SSI Automate
Launched in March 2026. It uses AI to extract, validate (against 2,000+ rules) and reconcile standing settlement instructions to cut fails and support T+1. It fixes the SSI cause of fails rather than predicting them.
- STP Investment Services SmartSettle AI in Lightspeed TDMS
Announced in January 2026. It adds predictive settlement analytics, pre-matching, exception prioritisation and early issue identification. It is aimed mainly at investment managers.
- Duco agentic reconciliation
Agentic AI for reconciliation and post-trade exceptions. It is adjacent and could extend into fail prevention, but I found no settlement-fail prediction product.
- Delta Capita and Xceptor T+1 offering
A consulting plus data-automation partnership for T+1 integration and readiness, including impact and gap analysis. It competes for the readiness and COO budget more than for the prediction work itself.
- ION Markets T+1 post-trade
An incumbent post-trade platform vendor marketing UK/EU/Swiss T+1 readiness to brokers, so it is likely to bundle fail monitoring into existing middle- and back-office systems.

Risks
- Today's evidence is a single item.
- Sales cycles at banks are long.
- Integrating with post-trade systems is heavy for a 3-person team.
- Broadridge and ION may bundle similar tools.

What happened next
- +7d · 16 Oct 2026 nothing yet. No new product launches, funding rounds, or acquisitions were found in the T+1 settlement failure prediction space after October 9, 2026. Existing tools like SSI Automate and Xceptor offerings predate the flag. Industry coverage centers on T+1 readiness challenges rather than new vendors entering this market.
