Onchain Shares ledger: cost basis and dividend tracking for tokenized stocks
Read-only tracker reconciling tokenized-stock positions, USDC dividends and cost basis on Base. Crypto-native investors pay.
Early · Base tokenized stocks: $70–100M daily
Written for: Solo builder
Next step
This week, index transfer and distribution events for the tokenized-stock contracts on Base with a public RPC or Dune query and ship a one-page wallet view with lots and dividends. Share it in Base's Farcaster channel and builder Discord.
Why now
Moved from watch to ready. On the watchlist, the open question was whether anyone actually trades these. Six weeks of $70–100M daily volume answers it, and Pollak is pitching a 'tokenization supercycle', so more issuers are coming. All the data is public onchain, so a read-only tracker needs no licence or custody.
What became possible
Coinbase's tokenized stocks on Base are live with real volume. Jesse Pollak puts it at $70–100 million a day six weeks after launch. Holders now carry lots and distributions that wallet apps don't treat as equities.

Competition
The main risks are willingness to pay and market size. Industry figures cited from RWA.xyz put tokenized-stock holders at roughly 200,000 in total, and many of them hold through exchanges like Kraken or Binance, not self-custody wallets.
Full competition notes (8 competitors)
I found no dedicated product that reconciles tokenized-stock lots, dividends and cost basis per wallet across Base and Solana. The closest are general tools. Zerion shows average cost and PnL, and Koinly treats xStocks as ordinary crypto. Neither appears to model the dividend mechanics, which differ by issuer. Those mechanics are the real opening. On Solana, xStocks and Ondo report dividends through a display multiplier while the raw token balance stays the same. Ondo on Ethereum folds dividends into a total-return price. Dinari dShares, which also run on Base, pay real USDC to holders of record. Base's own documentation says Coinbase-issued B20 stocks turn cash dividends into a multiplier update instead of paying USDC. So the pitch's "USDC dividends on Base" is only true for some issuers. A tracker that only reads raw balances and USDC transfers will misstate both income and cost basis. A new entrant could win by being the reference ledger that understands each issuer's corporate-action model. It would split dividend income from price gains, adjust lots for multipliers and splits, and export clean CSVs that accountants can use. The likely threat is Koinly or Zerion adding issuer-aware handling once tokenized-stock volumes justify it, so speed and depth of issuer coverage matter. The issuer comparison page is weaker as a standalone product. RWA.xyz already covers holdings and supply, and the ByKaranteli and x402 tools already compute premium or discount to the underlying share. A CoinPaprika analysis does say there is still no continuously updated public premium/discount tracker (https://coinpaprika.com/education/tokenized-stocks-price-tracking/). A free consumer page combining tracking error, dividend timing and mechanics would work best as a top-of-funnel SEO asset for the paid ledger, not as something to monetize on its own. The main risks are willingness to pay and market size. Industry figures cited from RWA.xyz put tokenized-stock holders at roughly 200,000 in total, and many of them hold through exchanges like Kraken or Binance, not self-custody wallets.
- Zerion
A multichain wallet and portfolio app that lets users trade xStocks in the app (https://zerion.io/blog/how-to-trade-spacex-and-other-xstocks-right-in-zerion/). Each asset shows Total, Realised and Unrealised PnL, Invested and Average Cost. I found nothing confirming that these figures handle xStocks dividend multipliers or issuer USDC payouts correctly, and it is not built as an accountant-ready lot ledger. It is still the closest general-purpose substitute for the Shares view.
- Koinly
Crypto tax software. Its support page says it supports tokenized stocks such as xStocks but treats them as crypto assets, with gains calculated like any other token. It already covers the export-to-CSV-for-the-accountant need. It probably has no dividend-specific or rebasing-aware handling.
- CoinTracker
A large crypto tax and portfolio tracker with more than 600 integrations, including Base and Solana wallets. I found no explicit tokenized-stock or dividend support, but it would pick up the raw token and USDC transfers.
- RWA.xyz
An institutional RWA analytics platform with a Stocks asset class and per-asset pages for tokenized equities, including Ondo tickers. It shows issuer, holder and supply data, with an API behind registration. It is a market-level dashboard, not a per-wallet ledger. It partly overlaps the issuer comparison page on holdings and supply.
- ByKaranteli tokenized stocks board (MCP tool)
An agent tool that compares tokenized stock wrappers to the real share price across issuers and chains. It covers premium, supply, liquidity, holders and DEX pools, and refreshes every 10 minutes. This is close to the proposed issuer comparison page, but it is delivered as an MCP tool, not a consumer web page.
- x402 issuer premium/discount tool on Base
A paid x402 endpoint on Base that returns each issuer's premium or discount against the real share in basis points, plus the spread between issuers. It overlaps the price-tracking part of the comparison page.
- CryptoUniversity tokenized stocks page
A public listing of tokenized stocks with issuer, network and a premium/discount column. That column reads 'not currently comparable' for the entries shown, so the comparison is shallow.
- Degate tokenized stock dividend playbook
Educational content, not a product. It compares how xStocks, Ondo and Dinari handle dividends (rebasing, total-return pricing, stablecoin payouts). This shows that issuer comparison content already exists as editorial material.

Risks
- Coinbase may ship its own statements and make this redundant
- Volume may come from a few large or automated wallets, not retail
- Errors in cost basis invite complaints, so keep it explicitly informational and not tax advice
- Issuer token structures differ, so each new issuer means new parsing work
